Diffuse alveolar damage (DAD) (see alsoo under IIb and XVf)

Early studies indicated the development of DAD, the 'chemotherapy lung' or the hemolytic and uremic syndrome in patients receiving FU in association with mitomycin C.

More recent cases described the complication in patients who received FOLFOX or FOLFIRI regimens. Corticosteroids were efficacious in a few cases
