Skin purpura, ecchymoses or necrosis

As the result of vasculopathy which can be occlusive and/or vasculitic, causing retiform purpura, painful violaceous plaques and skin necrosis which can be extensive. The lesions have a predilection to localize in the ear lobes, face and limbs, causing extensive damage. Extensive skin necrosis raises management issues similar to that in burned patients. Concomitant DAH is a possibility
